December 8, 2008 Press Release: Robbery Contact: Paul Child; PIO 292-8441 Date: December 8, 2008 On December 7, 2008, at 10:50 hours, Centerville Police were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Pharmacy at 221 W. Parrish Lane on report of a robbery. A male in his early 20s entered the Wal-Mart, waiting near the pharmacy for approximately 15 minutes before approaching the pharmacist. The pharmacist asked the individual if he needed help and he replied by asking for a bottle of Oxycontin. The pharmacist informed the individual that he would need a prescription to obtain Oxycontin. The individual replied by saying “No I don’t, this is a robbery.” The pharmacist walked to the opposite side of the pharmacy, dialed 911 on her cell phone, and attempted to stall the individual. The individual got spooked and ran away from the pharmacy. No weapon was displayed and the individual did not obtain any drugs. |
