City to pursue curbside recycling program
Thursday, October 23, 2008 - 04:15 AM

The Centerville City Council has decided to proceed with a city-wide curbside recycling program. The program will be city-wide it will not be mandatory.

Residents will have a one time opportunity to "opt out" of the program before collection begins. Details are not yet available on how the opt out provisions will work. Additional information will be given to all residents prior to commencing the program. Time frame and costs of the program are not yet known, and additional information will be made public when available.

The City will not pursue placing recycling bins in the City. However there are paper recycling bins located at all the elementary schools, at Centerville Jr. High and in the east parking lot of the MTC building at approximately 425 north 400 west. These bins accept newspapers, junk mail, office paper and other recyclable paper.
